In 2013, the Executive Director of the Environment and Tourism Support Initiative (EATS) served as a facilitator for the Community-Led Total Sanitation (CLTS) programs in Delta State, Nigeria.
The CLTS program is designed to empower communities to take responsibility for their own environmental sanitation, with a strong focus on ending open defecation and promoting Open Defecation-Free (ODF) communities. Through community-driven approaches and participatory methods, the initiative successfully triggered local action and strengthened environmental stewardship at the grassroots level.
